About the Proceedings

The volume contains selected, peer-reviewed papers from the International Scientific Forum National Interest, National Identity and National Security, (NININS 2020), 10-12 March, 2020, Linguistics University of Nizhny Novgorod, Russia.

The work in this volume is essential reading for scholars and stakeholders working in areas pertaining to national identity. The work helps to establish a deep and comprehensive scientific understanding of the concepts of national interest, national identity and national security, which are interpreted ambiguously in different scientific schools and research communities. The work presented here is especially unique as it is presented through an interdisciplinary lens amalgamating the work of intellectuals in the field of social and humanitarian knowledge. The work touches on establishing ethnic self-awareness and cultural identity in multicultural spaces; how religious and philosophical dynamics operate to foster national consciousness and social relations; how national interests are perceived in the practice of media communications and public relations; and how linguacultural identity and linguistic world view contributes to national identity.

The 217 full papers presented were subjected to a single-blind review process and selected from 153 submissions. The thematic sections covered presentations on Ethnic self-awareness and cultural identity in multicultural spaces; Religious aspects in national consciousness and social relations; Economic and information aspects of public security; Linguacultural identity and linguistic worldview; National interests in the practice of media communications and public relations; Reflection of national interests in law and legislation; and Public organizations and volunteer movements in the context of national interests.
