About the Proceedings
This volume contains selected, peer-reviewed papers from the 4th International Conference on Management and Communication (ICMC 2025), held on 4–6 February 2025 in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia. The conference brought together scholars and practitioners to share research, discuss challenges in management and communication, and develop connections across institutions and disciplines.
Under the theme Innovating Together: The Convergence of Management, Communication, and the Digital Transformation, ICMC 2025 examined how technological change is reshaping organisations, professional practice and society. Hosting the conference in Sabah created opportunities for exchange among participants from East Malaysia, the wider Borneo region and other countries.
The programme included four keynote speakers, three parallel presentation sessions and a Borneo Special Talk entitled “Borneo in the Global Spotlight: Challenges, Resilience and Future Prospects.” Presentations addressed business, communication, accounting and finance, entrepreneurship, environmental management, governance, human resources, organisational behaviour, tourism, supply chains and related social science topics. Participants joined in person and online, and three papers received best paper awards.
For this proceedings volume, the organisers report that 152 manuscripts were submitted for review and 77 were accepted, representing an acceptance rate of 50.66%. Submissions underwent an initial assessment, single-blind review by senior academic reviewers and final verification by the Scientific Committee. The review panel comprised 26 experts from several universities, including external reviewers. Turnitin was used for similarity checks.
The Organising Committee thanks the Government of Sabah, Datuk Dr. Ahemad bin Sade, the Ministry of Public Works (KKR), Qhazanah Sabah Berhad, Universiti Utara Malaysia and the participating institutions for their support. We also thank the keynote speakers, panelists, reviewers, authors, presenters and conference team whose contributions made ICMC 2025 and this volume possible.
