Abstract

Islamic education plays a vital role in cultivating morally grounded and spiritually resilient individuals. However, persistent challenges—particularly limited access in rural areas, reliance on traditional pedagogies, and low digital proficiency among educators—continue to constrain its reach and effectiveness. This study reports on the development, pilot implementation, and preliminary evaluation of a smart learning platform collaboratively designed by Universiti Poly-Tech Malaysia (UPTM) and Program Takmir Negeri Sembilan. The platform integrates interactive, web-based modules covering key Islamic domains (tasawuf, akidah, and ibadah), supported by structured educator training programmes. A mixed-methods approach involving 200 participants (100 educators and 100 learners) was employed to assess engagement, educator readiness, and user satisfaction. Preliminary findings indicated statistically significant improvements. (p < .001) in learner engagement, educator digital confidence, and satisfaction. However, findings should be interpreted as indicative rather than conclusive, given the pilot design and absence of a control group. This study demonstrates the feasibility of integrating digital technologies with Islamic pedagogical frameworks to promote inclusivity, sustainability, and lifelong learning..
