Abstract
This study examines the effectiveness of international student registration systems by focusing on three dimensions: operational efficiency, user experience, and economic burden. A mixed-methods approach was employed involving 38 international students from diverse national backgrounds. Quantitative data were collected using a structured questionnaire measuring the Registration Efficiency Index (REI), User Experience (UX) Score, and Economic Burden Index (EBI), while qualitative insights were obtained through usability testing, interviews, and focus group discussions. Descriptive statistics and Pearson correlation analysis were used to evaluate relationships among the variables. The findings show that the mean REI was 59.7, the mean UX score was 59.8, and the mean EBI was 54.0, indicating moderate performance across all three dimensions. A weak positive correlation was found between REI and UX (r = 0.215), suggesting that operational efficiency alone does not guarantee a better user experience. In contrast, a strong positive correlation was identified between registration delays and economic burden (r = 0.713), with each additional day of delay increasing the perceived burden on students. The study concludes that universities should not only improve system efficiency but also strengthen communication, multilingual support, and user-centred design to enhance international student registration processes and reduce avoidable financial strain.
