Relationship Between Leadership, Work Environment, Social Support, And Training On Job Performance Among Women Workers In The Klang Valley

Abstract

This study investigates the relationship between employee well-being and mental health among women workers in the Lembah Klang region, focusing on the factors that influence employee performance. Specifically, the research aims to determine the relationship between supportive leadership, work environment, perceived social support, and training and awareness programs on employee performance. Data was collected from 381 respondents using structured surveys, and the results were analysed using SPSS and SmartPLS. The findings indicate that all four factors—supportive leadership, work environment, perceived social support, and training and awareness programs—have a positive and significant relationship with employee performance. Among these, training and awareness programs emerged as the most impactful factor, followed by perceived social support and supportive leadership. The study contributes to the existing literature by highlighting the importance of these factors in enhancing employee performance, particularly in a gender-specific context in Malaysia. The results also suggest the need for organizations to prioritize these elements to foster a supportive work culture that promotes employee well-being and mental health, ultimately leading to improved performance. This research provides practical implications for managers and policymakers in designing effective workplace strategies that support women workers in the region.
