Sustaining Quality Education Through Blended Learning Pedagogy In Private Higher Education Institution
Abstract
Blended learning, a combination of traditional face-to-face instruction and online educational activities, has been emerged as a transformative pedagogy in private higher education institutions (IPTS) in Malaysia. This study focused on the implementation and sustainability of blended learning at IPTS in Klang Valley areas, analyzing key challenges such as technological disparities, digital literacy, and engagement issues among students. In this study, by employing a quantitative approach, data was collected from IPTS students through structured surveys. The findings revealed significant barriers, including limited internet access, varied digital literacy levels, and difficulties in maintaining motivation among students. These challenges indicate that students require continuous support, accessible learning resources, and effective guidance to navigate blended environments successfully. Hence, effective pedagogical strategies were identified as crucial for enhancing students’ level of satisfaction and academic performance. Additionally, the study highlights the importance of institutional readiness, including reliable digital infrastructure, appropriate training for educators, and clear policies to support blended learning implementation. The study concludes with recommendations to optimize blended learning practices to ensure long-term educational quality and equitable access for tertiary students. Overall, the research reinforces that blended learning has strong potential to improve learning outcomes when supported by strategic planning and collaborative efforts between educators and administrators.
