Abstract
Economic progress is inseparable from the increasing widespread of trade in a country. However, trade carried out using Islamic economic principles can provide blessings for economic actors. This can be done by applying these principles in Islamic Finance and implementing market mechanism policies. ASEAN countries are regions that have economic potential to continue to grow and implement Islamic Finance. This study aims to analyze the influence of Islamic Finance and macroeconomics on trade in ASEAN countries. Islamic finance is used as the dependent variable, and the independent variables are macroeconomic variables such as Foreign Direct Investment, inflation, and population. The data in this study used purposive sampling in ASEAN countries and obtained research objects from ASEAN-6, namely Malaysia, Indonesia, Brunei Darussalam, the Philippines, Thailand, and Singapore. This study used a panel data regression analysis approach. The results of Islamic Finance have a positive and significant impact on trade in ASEAN countries. Macroeconomic conditions in the form of inflation have a positive and significant impact on trade in ASEAN countries, but Foreign Direct Investment and population have no effect on trade in ASEAN countries. Therefore, Foreign Direct Investment needs to apply Islamic principles to bring blessings, regulate population growth, and improve the quality of human competence to create trustworthy individuals.
