Religious Tourism As A Means Of Intercultural Interaction And Overcoming Religious Confrontation

Figure 1: The “Island-town Sviyazhsk” has a rich history (Figure 03). Originally it was built by Ivan the Terrible to support Russian army in conquering Kazan – the capital of Kazan Khanate in 1552. On the town’s territory there is a huge number of religious Orthodox buildings: Assumption Monastery, holding the relics of St. Herman, The Assumption Cathedral, The Trinity Church and many others.
