Editorial - Multidimensional Educational and Professional Development. Ethical Values in Central and Eastern European Countries

Abstract

In the context of the current Central and Eastern European framework, LUMEN Research Center in Social and Humanistic Sciences, LUMEN Conference Center and LUMEN Publishing House join efforts in bringing together researchers and scientists from all over the globe, facilitating the professional development and encouraging the dialogue, creativity and exchange of ideas. The aim of LUMEN Conferences is to create and develop a scientific network, provide the framework for improving and shaping methodologies while continuously exchanging connections and establishing partnerships. This edition fulfilled its goals by bringing together participants of all academic levels, from over 13 different countries, summing up a total of over 350 researchers. The Proceedings Volume of the 2nd Central and Eastern European LUMEN Conference – Multidimensional Education and Professional Development. Ethical Values incorporates articles in the social sciences and humanities fields, without a precise disciplinary border. The main topics covered by the researchers are: Sociology, Communication, Social Work, Anthropology, Applied Philosophy, Ethics, Applied Ethics, Bioethics, History, Religious Studies, Language, Arts & Architecture, Psychology, Educational Sciences, Sport, Politics, European Studies, International Relations, Public & Private Law, Management, Marketing, Economy, Public Health & Medical Humanities.

Introduction

The 2nd edition of Central & Eastern European LUMEN International Scientific Conference was a manifestation with multidisciplinary character, whose general objective was to promote scientific excellence, encouraging original researches.

This CEE LUMEN International Conference highlighted and brought into debate the current frameworks of multidimensional education and professional development, under the considerations of ethical valuing, in a Central and Eastern European multicultural context.

We brought together different research studies in social sciences and humanities which, through a rigorous and innovative methodology, responded to the need for innovation in these areas.

This edition of the Central & Eastern European LUMEN Conference facilitated the dialogue between practitioners, academics and students on current issues, affiliated to various educational and research institutions, in the sphere of social sciences and humanities, within the Central and Eastern Europe space.

Representativity and collaborations

Within the LUMEN Conference, our co-organizers and partners – Valahia University from Targoviste, Romania, launched the first edition of the International Conference Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA 2016), coordinated by the Faculty of Political Sciences, Letters and Communication.

The participants to this edition of the Central and Eastern European LUMEN Conference and its associated Conferences and Workshops brought together more than 350 researchers and scientists from all over the globe, represented by: Turkey, Ukraine, Macedonia, Iraq, Israel, Russia, Palestine, Czech Republic, USA, Germany, Sweden, Oman, Spain, Latvia and the Republic of Moldova.

LUMEN International Conference is part of a series of conferences which started in 2010 under the name Logos Universality Mentality Education Novelty. This series has evolved over the years, reaching its 8th edition, to which we add two editions of the Central and Eastern European LUMEN Conference – NASHS – expressly dedicated to promoting excellency in research, facilitating the dialogue between practitioners, researchers and students in the field of social and humanistic sciences, in the Central and Eastern European space, with the Republic of Moldova as a point of convergence.

A special event – World LUMEN Congress 2016 – marked the 15th anniversary of LUMEN Association, who consists of LUMEN Conference Center and LUMEN Research Center in Social and Humanistic Sciences.
